In the world of love stories, Sadie and Halle shine as a beacon of affection and joy. A few months before their wedding, this power couple reached out for a little pre-wedding adventure and it was an immediate yes from me! Their laughter echoed through the market, teasing each other to tears, creating such a warm, genuine atmosphere that was so beautiful to be around.

The Exploratory Vibes

This casual engagement session in downtown St. Paul was no ordinary stroll through the market. Sadie and Halle embraced the exploratory spirit, meandering through stalls, interacting with vendors, and letting the day unfold organically. The goal was a mix of documentary-style moments, intimate snapshots, and a dash of editorial-inspired creativity. Their session became a celebration of the unconventional, proving that love stories can thrive in unexpected places.

The St. Paul Farmers Market held a special place in Halle’s heart, having been a part of her life since childhood. Now, the couple, residing in Duluth, made it a tradition to visit this market whenever they ventured into the Twin Cities. Despite its “mundane” setting, the market became a canvas for their love, emphasizing the uniqueness of everyday locations.

Weather and Atmosphere:

The overcast and slightly rainy weather added a touch of moody romance to the session. The St. Paul Farmers Market was lively which garnered us a few curious glances. We all felt a tad awkward at first, but we paused and chatted about our reason for wanting to be there, how we wanted the photos to feel and then shared some laughs together about feeling silly. From that moment on, we committed to not caring what anyone around us thought!

Chill Market Moments:

The day was genuinely so fun! We savored the flavors of steamed buns, immersed ourselves in the tunes performed by live musicians, and picked out vibrant flowers to complement the market’s lively ambiance. The interactions with the vendors were nothing short of heartwarming, adding a sweet and personal touch to the session. 

Unexpected Adventures:

Amidst the lively market experience, we met a super unenthused flower vendor. I spotted a mostly empty truck with a few buckets of flowers,  and asked her if the truck was hers. With a deadpan expression, she retorted, “No, it’s the farmer’s truck.” I was confused and asked who brought the truck to the market, to which she begrudgingly admitted, “Well, me, yeah,” as if my question was silly. So I asked if we could take photos in the back and her face looked so annoyed, but she said yes right away. The awkwardness was totally worth it!
